Parents are encouraged to regularly check on the work that their student's are doing and have conversations with them in regards to their work. Frequent monitoring and communication can prevent issues with grades before deadlines occur.
Details as to what students are learning and what the items on students JMC grades mean are shown at planbook.com . Planbook is a website that our school uses to display the content students are learning. This includes listing when assignments are given, what lesson objectives are, and what the content standards that are being met are. All teachers are required use planbook.
Postville has adopted the policy that students will have a second chance at any score that is entered into their JMC grade. The policy specifies that a student has 5 days to turn in homework late and will have an opportunity at a second chance on all quizzes or tests. Teachers are allowed to give more time than 5 days, so to know whether something can still be turned in, look at their grade on JMC. If a score is "0" than they may no longer turn that item in. If the score is "mi" than they may still turn that in.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact the school or a teacher.
